Introduction & Mission

GreenTeamsUSA.org is an educational web site. It provides a means for educators, business trainers, community volunteers and average consumers to view videos and slide shows in order to gain awareness and take action. They can then share the videos, slide shows, magazine articles, petitions, hand-outs and other media with their students, co-workers, families, friends and neighbors and thus form teams within their own community.  Green Teams USA will serve to strengthen the nationwide “green” movement and advocate for a zero-carbon footprint in every community–that’s zero emissions and zero wastes.

Green Teams USA’s mission is to:
* promote awareness about responsible and irresponsible uses of the Earth’s resources
* educate consumers about the need to change personal buying habits
* enlist neighborhoods to integrate societal needs with the integrity of Earth’s ecosystems
* urge decision makers to protect and restore the quality of natural and human environments

Green Teams USA’s intention is to help everyone realize that we, the people, can become conscientious consumers;  we can resist industrialism and commercialism by ignoring all the alluring commercials, advertisements, schemes and fear-based propaganda; we can refuse to buy dirty, polluting and unhealthy products; we can persist to increase awareness and spread the truth; we can end the chemical and fossil fuel industries’ “war against our planet”!!!

This out-reach project and some of the slide show presentations were originated by the Piedmont Plateau Group, Sierra Club on behalf of its Sustainability Speakers Group in 2012-2014. The speakers group later changed its name to the “Green Team”.
